A SCRATCH CAKE FROM PURNI’S CAKERY!!

Heading back a decade ago when I believed baking a cake was what bakeries could only do. Soon, I was startled by a homemade cake baked by my college junior that tasted delicious at every bite. It was the time the Baking industry was at its inception, women began to choose baking as a business to elevate their entrepreneurial skills.

As a foodie and pastry lover, I planned to set up a cafeteria primarily selling a variety of cakes under a pastry chef's guidance. But, I was destined to another scale pushing my instinct to bake a cake inspired by then-few home bakers of that time.

Firstly, I dived into Youtube to check for the right recipe. Being a vegetarian by choice, I hunted for an eggless recipe from A Vlog “ Cooking Shooking”. I made a Chocolate cake from scratch baked in AMC cookware, not OTG. The cake was quite hard and tasted average. I realized I overbeat the cake batter in a mixie ( yes, I did ) which resulted in this outcome. Repeatedly, every month I continued to bake following different recipes from the internet. The joy of baking gave a soothing effect on my mind, eventually, I loved the smell of the cake that was therapeutic.

Years passed, and my idea of starting a venture in the Food industry sprouted when I realized Tirunelveli had no cake shop exclusively for eggless. The era of home baking was also new 5 years back which pushed me to start this business in Nellai. And Yes, Purni’s Cakery started selling cakes at reasonable prices above all, the First Eggless home bakes in Tirunelveli.

In the Initial days of Purni’s Cakery, recipes were blindly followed by various blogs. After doing some orders, I decided to curate recipes for my business. Taking reference from the internet and sources from various books, I trailed various recipes by myself and became a self-taught baker.

All recipes from Purni's Cakery are made from scratch keeping in mind the accurate measurement of ingredients required to bake the perfect cake. Sometimes we fail in our progress, but when the cake gets right with perfect texture and has a yummilicious taste, my happiness knows no bounds.
